Case Summary

In this case, a private satellite operator company hired Meyer Law Group to file an O-1A petition for an individual with extraordinary ability in science. Former NASA scientists founded the company. The company intended to hire the client, an expert in computer vision, to improve resolution of the images collected by their high-speed satellite cameras.

Brief Summary of the Petition:

Firstly, we detailed the client’s research history. The client invented a novel image segmentation algorithm which reduced processing times and had a final accuracy rate exceeding 90%. The client’s work is one of the most widely distributed commercial interactive image segmentation algorithms in the world. Moreover, his work has been adopted into many products at distinguished companies.

Secondly, we noted that the client had two granted patents and five published academic journal articles at the time of filing. Also, we highlighted his impressive academic background at Oxford University, where he received a Ph.D. in Photogrammetry and a master’s degree in Engineering. Thirdly, we included the client’s extensive professional experience. Specifically, he worked as an engineer at Samsung and Rolls Royce.

Finally, the petition included three outstanding letters of recommendation from the client’s professors and co-workers. The authors are affiliated with Samsung Electronics and the University of Oxford. Furthermore, one of the letters explained that the client “tackled the major challenge of why humans experience nausea when viewing stereoscopic imagery.” He further went on to say that “[the client] is one of the world-class experts in computer-vision and made outstanding contributions to the field.”

In conclusion, MLG successfully filed this petition, which USCIS approved in just one month. MLG thanks the client and his company for their trust in our firm’s team. We wish our client the best of luck in his new future in the United States.
